CONTACT: Brenda Martin, BrenMar Communications

Just three months after launching their unique and stimulating talk program, “Something’s Brewing on the Radio,” at WTAN radio in Clearwater, veteran Tampa Bay radio personality Rita Ciccarello and author/actress/independent radio producer/host Brenda Martin have taken their signature broadcast across the Bay to WWBA radio, owned by Genesis Communications, Inc.

The LIVE show has been broadcasting from its new station since May 1st, and can be heard every Saturday between 9:00 to 10:00 AM (Eastern) on AM 820 and/or Previous shows are available on the show’s website:

The weekly hour-long program, which features discussion of current events, everyday life situations and interviews with interesting people, was created at the end of 2009 when Ciccarello and Martin noted the significant void in general subject matter talk radio programs hosted by women. Deciding to fill that gap, they created “Something’s Brewing on the Radio” utilizing their own brand of upbeat, interesting, informational and fun radio talk, analyzing today’s news from a woman’s point of view.

But “Something’s Brewing on the Radio” is not just for women – a significant following of listeners and supporters – including many men – has already been developing.

Tampa native Ciccarello has a rich history in broadcasting, having worked with Tampa Bay’s WQYK radio for thirty years, winning the 2003 Country Music Association’s Award for Major Market Broadcast Personality of the Year. In addition to her career in radio, she has worked both on and off stage in bay-area theatres.

Martin, the author of the Treasure-Hunt Fish children’s picture book series (which is literally set IN Tampa Bay!) produced and co-hosted her own weekly radio variety program, “Entertainment and the Arts” (also on WTAN) from 2003 until March of this year. Martin’s background also includes more than ten years working in the non-profit arena and, like Ciccarello, treading the boards in local theatres. A Midwesterner by birth, Martin moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1989.
