Over the course of her career, Brenda Darnley Martin has worked in a Variety of positions requiring strong written and verbal communication skills, such as: nurse recruiter and employment representative for a large hospital, leasing agent for a luxury condominium building, coordinator of volunteers and director of communications for a human
services non-profit agency, visiting author, and even standup
comedian!
She has spent more than 20 years working as an actress, voiceover talent and media host; and writer of newsletters, media releases, bios, special event song parodies, etc. In 2014 she added poetic marketing messages to her portfolio.
Since 1999, Brenda has developed, produced and co-hosted five independent informational radio programs on four separate brick-and-mortar radio stations; and written and voiced radio ad copy.
In addition, Brenda created and authored her own Tampa Bay-themed picture-book series, teaching valuable life lessons through the adventures of the Treasure Hunt Fish (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Treasure-Hunt-Fish-Picture-Book-Series/104603008337).
Born and raised in the Detroit area, Brenda earned her BA degree at St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, before literally crossing the street to earn her MBA from the University of Notre Dame. She and her husband Mike happily moved out of the snow-belt to Tampa Bay in 1989.
Brenda is an active member of the Notre Dame Club of Greater Tampa Bay, where she serves as Communications Editor. She also serves as Historian and Editor of the Newsletter for the Sarasota-based organization, “ABC Authors and Illustrators;” among other networking interests. Avid dog lovers, Brenda and Mike love spending their free time with their beloved rescue dogs – Lucky, a Dachshund and Bandit, a Doxie mix.
